The final cast is in Boston on the edge of the Common, across from the State House. Here, Bill is showing me where he stood during Saint-Gaudens' modeling of the scene. Fortunately for art lovers everywhere Saint-Gaudens decided Bill was superfluous. Sorry, Bill! |
Bill & Rob's Sunapee Adventure |
A couple of years ago my friend Bill & I spent a weekend in & around Sunapee, NH. That's Bill above (on the RIGHT!). Bill grew up near New London, CT, and his family spent many summer vacations at Sunapee. It had been many, many (many, many) years since Bill had been back, so it was fun being with him as he waxed nostalgic. |
Above: We took the chairlift to the top of Mt. Sunapee for the BBQ, then took a short hike before returning to the Mt. Sunapee Motel (left). |
Here ducky, ducky! I'm pretty certain this was AFTER a couple of drinks dockside in the town of Sunapee. |
Here ducky, ducky! No, wait... On our way to Cornish Bill insisted I stop to take a picture of a horse in the same field above (but not in this picture) for our friend Jim. (Don't ask.) |
